Tharpa Yongk were until recently off limits for non-initiated men of the particular Wik Mungkan clan and all women. However, the elders have decided in the interests of keeping the Law and sacred stories alive these Law Poles may be seen outside ceremonial use.
This particular Pole relates to the ceremony associated with the ‘upside down tree’ where the roots are pointing skyward and branches/leaves are below ground. This is to assist the spiritual connections of this Pulwaiya (Dreaming) to connect the Law Pole with the particular Story Place.
