Mina Mina is a sacred womens’ site in the south west of the Tanami Desert aprox 500kml north west of Alice Springs. In the wet season the area floods and progressively dries out forming vast expanses of salt lake interspersed with more elevated areas on which plants, trees and wild life survive.
This magnificent painting by Judy aludes to these attributes which themselves repersent – or are enbued with – the ceremonial and cultural values and significance of the sites.
A magnificent example of Judy’s painting.
