This is a story about Kaliny-Kaliny (Honey Grevillea) Two male water snakes, father and son are living at Pukara, a waterhole in Western Australia. Anangu tjuta (lots of people) come to the rockhole for the sweet water. The father says, ‘Go back to your own country’ The people leave and the father and son travel to Willuna where they camp.
They return to Pukura and are sleeping when they hear a buzzing sound. Minuma Punpumpa (Lady Flies) are makinhg lots of noise around the honey grevillea.
The father and son go to collect honey. It is there the Wati Mututja (black ant) spears the son in the side. The son vomits up lots of honey grevillea in colours of yellow and orange.
There are still lots of grevillea plants at the site today.
