The site of this painting is Puyurru west of Yuendumu. In the usually dry creek beds are water soakages or naturally occuring wells. The water dreaming story Shorty tells is of two Jangala ancestors who sang up rain which consequently created a fierce storm. This storm collided with another storm and was carried by a brown falcon. However the storm became too heave for the falcon who dropped it at Parlinyarnu where it became a claypan or soak. To this day when it rains, hundreds of ‘bush ducks’ come to the area.
